Georgia Potter

Sharp-tongued chanteuse Georgia Potter is today's Eazy Entertainment Australia's Artist of the Week. Georgia Potter is one of the hardest working musos in Brisbane right now.  Georgia Potter has rapidly moved to the cutting edge of Alt- electronic pop in a short a burst of hyper-activity. She is tagged as "Female Frank Ocean" because of her two promotional singles XO and Reckless that were digitally released on Bandcamp and Soundcloud. Her songs were played a thousand times and Georgia became a Featured Artist on Triple J Unearthed just days after 'Reckless' dropped and moved into the Top #20 and #5 in the Unearthed Pop charts. Her previous single 'XO' received national and international radio play including major LA station KCRW.

Georgia’s eclectic mixture of neo-RnB and alt-pop sound encompasses a spectrum of dazzling musical concepts, from rolling beds of bass lapped with lush epiphanies to darker introspection, on love and loss, traversed by spacious and beat driven production - an unquestionable reasons why Georgia Potter needs to be acknowledged and featured as Eazy Entertainment's Artist of the Week.

Her artistic trajectory has seen her move from folk balladeer to recording and touring member of indie cult punk-soul group Laneous & The Family Yah to guesting live with acts such as Hiatus Kaiyote and Regurgitator.

"I've spent my whole life performing in a ridiculous variety of contexts but mostly kept my writing to myself until university. But after 1 year gigging as a soloist my music started evolving away from straight singer/songwriter stuff and I craved that feeling you get from having cymbals smashing behind you and bass frequencies up in your face, not to mention someone to turn to and smile with occasionally."  said Georgia Potter

With her debut LP currently underway, and after the response to her two promotional singles, expect big things from this mercurial songstress.

Dave Hole

Known for his style of playing rock and roll and blues music, Dave Hole is an Australian slide guitarist and is Eazy Entertainment's Artist of the Week. According to Australian rock music historian, Ian McFarlane,  Dave Hole "is the most acclaimed blues guitarist Australia has ever produced ... courtesy of his unorthodox slide guitar style, his rousing live shows and a series of hard-rocking, roadhouse blues albums ... yet it took two decades of slogging around the Australian touring circuit before the local industry sat up and took notice".

David Robert "Dave" Hole was born on the 30th of March 1948 at Heswall, Cheshire, United Kingdom. When he was four-years-old his family moved to Perth, Australia. He became interested in blues music after hearing a school friend's Muddy Waters' album when aged six-years-old. At twelve-years-old he received his first guitar and started to teach himself due to lack of availability of teachers. Hole is left-handed and, after breaking a finger in a football accident, he played the guitar right-handed. "I had to have a cast on it. So I came up with this idea, just while I was recuperating, of jamming the slide on my index finger and hanging it over the top of the guitar – quite an awkward sort of style, really. It took me about three months before this cast came off. And over that time it started to feel good".

Two of his albums have appeared on Billboard Top Blues Albums, Steel on Steel (1995) peaked at No. 13 and Ticket to Chicago (1997) reached No. 15. His sixth album, Under the Spell, appeared in April 1999 and won "Best Blues & Roots Album" at the ARIA Music Awards of that year.

Dave Hole“There’s no more explosive Blues guitar player in the world.” – ESQUIRE, U.S.A.

"No one on the current scene plays with the incendiary power he does” – ASSOCIATED PRESS.

“Magnificent, staggering, almost beyond belief. Utterly Blues approved.”--“GUITAR PLAYER” MAGAZINE, U.S.A.

“Exhilaratingly relentless…he produces solo upon blistering solo.” – GUITAR WORLD

“…..a one-way journey to sonic joy” – LIVING BLUES, USA.

“Slide guitar fanatics will have their brains blown out …. prepare to hear your jaw hitting the floor.” – BILLBOARD, U.S.A.

"….. he reigns supreme. His electric slide is without peer" - VINTAGE GUITAR, U.S.A.

After 8 previous releases and innumerable world tours, Dave Hole is now widely regarded as one of the all-time slide guitar greats, with accolades from around the globe and a growing world-wide fan base.

With his furious energy and amazing "over-the-top" style of playing, Dave Hole has carved his own place deep in the pantheon of slide guitar greats. His performances are drenched in waves of fret-melting guitar riffs that infuse the spirit of blues and rock slide legends such as Duane Allman, Johnny Winter and Elmore James. "Nothing interferes with Hole's searing guitar when he is in full flight," said Rolling Stone. Guitar World agreed, saying, "Hole produces solo upon blistering solo with slide work that is exhilaratingly relentless."

Calling All Cars

Hail to another Australian rock band Calling All Cars for being chosen to be Eazy Entertainment's Artist of the Week. Calling All Cars is a rock band from Melbourne, Victoria. They have built themselves a reputation for having a thrilling and in-your-face live show.

The band have been heavily touring Australia for the past 3 years, released 2 acclaimed albums and have received considerable rotation on Australian radio, including 'album of the week' on Triple J.

Calling All Cars formed in 2005 with brothers Haydn and James Ing and friend Matt Lonergan, who was eventually replaced with Adam Montgomery. Haydn and James grew up in a small country town before moving permanently to Melbourne.

The band spent most of 2013 working on their 3rd studio album due for release that year, they have been posting teasers on their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, including photos and videos of them in the studio, screenshots of their demos on an iTunes playlist (with the names of the songs mostly omitted, leaving the length of the songs, the artist name 'Calling All Cars' and the "album" name 'Album 3 Demos') and a few posts open to interpretation such as 'W.E.R.E.W.O.L.V.E.S' and 'R.A.I.S.E T.H.E P.E.O.P.L.E' . During July, the band played a few secret gigs throughout Melbourne underneath the name 'Werewolves', at venues including The Ding Dong lounge and Cherry Bar. The Ding Dong lounge gig on July 12 was hinted on their Facebook page.

Hard rock advocates Calling All Cars have entered uncharteed waters for their third and currently unnamed album, with the band today unveiling the first single from the album, Werewolves. It’s a sonic left turn and it’s worked, so they’re coming to a stage near you to prove it.

Jay Hoad

Jay Hoad

A Fijian born South Australian didgeridoo artist and stringed instrument virtuoso Jay Hoad is today's Eazy Entertainment Australia's Artist of the Week. He performs both as a solo artist and also fronts an extremely high-energy band.

Jay Hoad left Adelaide 7 years ago on an international music odyssey. He has spent the last seven years touring the globe, following the sun and his inspiration for music throughout the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Bali, Fiji, Canada and North America, keeping up a relentless performance schedule whilst passionately learning about third world culture and every style of music he can sink his teeth in to.

Jay Hoad's music is often categorized as "World" as it is hard to pin down to one genre, but fans and fellow musicians will say it's far from... "I have never seen anything like Jay in my life, the way he plays so many instruments all at once boggles my mind, and the way he effortlessly combines so many genres of music in insane!" - Matthew Lavine, USA. "Must be seen to be believed!" - Sarah Thomas, FIJI. Hoad says, "I just love combining all styles of music from reggae to rock, tribal to jazz, funk to flamenco... you will see it all with this group!"

Artist of the Week

In 2011, Jay Hoad was recognized and honored amongst other international artists to support Bob Marley's "The Wailers" on the East Coast leg of their North America tour. He has been featured at major music festivals including  WOMADelaide, the  Port Fairy Folk Music Festival, and Saarang World Cultural Festival in India. This time Eazy Entertainment Australia will do its share in honoring and recognizing local music artist. Jay Hoad is chosen to be the featured Artist of the Week.

He has three internationally-released albums to his credit, "Stories For The Soul", "Warmth In The White", and his newest release, "Home Is Where The Heart Is".

Jay Hoad is bringing his unique show back to our shores for another huge Australian Tour, making his way around country with this one man band extravaganza. "I am so excited to be playing back in my home town of Adelaide and have invited a huge list of Adelaide's finest musicians to join me on stage for this show!" Jay Hoad.

Hoad will be launching his brand new album "Home Is Where The Heart Is" in Adelaide at the Gov on October 11th with support act Bongo Sistas & Bro.

Says Jay, "I really can't wait to get back to SA as I absolutely love that part of the world. And of course, I'm super excited to be touring with a new album and pretty much a whole new set and sound. I think this album is by far the best work I have done to date, and coming from me that's a big call as I am super critical of my own work and rarely give myself a pat on the back. It truly represents all aspects of what I have to offer and I feel it really captures the live sound of my show like never before. Working with Craig was an incredible experience he brought out the best in me on every note. And with the evolving nature of music distribution, we really went to town on the artwork for this release as who knows how long physical CDs will still be available!"

Davey Lane

Davey Lane

Another Australian musician is today's featured Artist of the Week. Eazy Entertainment salutes to David Lane, also known as Davey Lane, who is one of the best male guitarist in Australia. Born on 31 January 1981, Davey Lane lead guitarist of You Am I (since 1999), and frontman of The Pictures. He is also a guitarist in Australian supergroup The Wrights. In January 29, 2005, Davey Lane performed with The Wrights at Waveaid presented at the Sydney Cricket Ground, in aid of the Boxing Day Tsunami. He then joined Jimmy Barnes' band and released The Pictures debut album, Pieces of Eight.

His talent was greatly recognized when Davey Lane was nominated for the Best Male Guitarist in 2006 at the Jack Awards for his work with You Am I. In 2007, he joined Crowded House for their tour in Europe and Australia, temporarily replacing Neil Finn's son Liam on miscellaneous guitar, keyboard and backup vocal duties. Late 2008 saw the release of You Am I's Dilettantes and the Pictures' Kicking Indifference.

After over a decade of experience as guitarist to one of Australia's much - loved rock groups You Am I, Davey Lane is going solo with his debut EP 'The Good Borne of Bad Tymes', set for release on September 6th, 2013.

Since joining You Am I at the tender age of 18, Lane has notched up six albums, an ARIA award, numerous world tours and shows with rock icons such as The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Strokes. Because of his big achievements and contributions in the Australian music industry, Davey Lane deserves to be featured as Eazy Entertainment's artist of the week.

His songwriting and recording collaborations are just as impressive and all-embracing, including co-writing with Jimmy Barnes, Jim Keays, Nic Cester (Jet), and hip-hop artist Phrase (on the 2011 Triple J hit ‘Apart’). He has featured as a guest on TV’s Rockwiz and has been the subject of several articles in Australian Guitar Player magazine.

Friday August 16 marks the official release of Davey Lane's debut single, "You’re The Cops, I'm The Crime."

You're The Cops, I'm The Crime is an ominous, brooding, psych-rock stomper with crunching hip hop drums and a soaring chorus, highlighting Lane's knack for melody and masterful guitar work. The 3-track digital release features the new single version and original home demo, as well as an exclusive remix from renowned Australian hip-hop producer M-Phazes (Bliss & Eso, Illy, Drapht, Phrase).

In support of the single and EP, Lane for the first time will embark on a headline tour through September and October with his band, beginning with Bigsound Live in Brisbane and then taking in Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.

"Lane has taken on the persona of Syd Barrett, joined Cheap Trick, and the result is brilliant....a spacey pop centrepiece that fits perfectly in with the niche crowd but still keeps Lane's rock credibility intact. For that, he should be lauded" - Drum Media, Single Of The Week

"a ripper electro-rock track that wastes no time launching into a beautifully wasted chorus, this intoxicating collection of notes that is deeply romantic in a bad-boy arsehole kind of way. A big, big hit, I think." - Beat Magazine, Single Of The Week

"A dark sliver of pop with one of those great single note quasi-funk-guitar riffs through the verse and a big, sweeping chorus replete with plenty of synth pads that add a kind of lush feel to the song." – TheMusic.com.au
