Robbie Miller

A young Brisbane artist, Robbie Miller, is Eazy Entertainment Australia's "Artist of the Week". This 24 year old Brisbane songwriter and singer won the Triple J's Unearthed National Indigenous Music Awards with his heart breaker of a tune "Don't Go Walking Away"

Robbie Miller grew up in the Caboolture area in Brisbane Queensland. He was brought up with the sounds of Neil Young, Cat Stevens and Van Morrison. His maternal grandmother is from the APY lands of Central Australia and his mother's father is from the Sabai Island in Torres Strait. Robbie started learning how to play a guitar in 2002 and started to write and record music. With his passion in music, he was able to finish school and graduated from the University of Technology in 2010. Robbie then got a job at Bond University, with the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience.

"AIME runs at universities around Australia mentoring high school kids to finish year 10 and 12 and hopefully into university or a trade. I grew up listening to people like Van Morrison and Cat Stevens but I don't sound like anyone I listen to. The biggest influence on my music is the life that I live and the community work I do.''  Robbie Miller

Robbie Miller, a right-handed batsman who plays for the Gold Coast Dolphins club, played in the Queensland team that won the Imparja Cup for Indigenous cricketers in Alice Springs in February. He is now busy with his new EP.

This young singer and songwriter Robbie Miller is fun loving and is now humbled by the opportunities lay in front of him after winning the National Indigenous Music Award. Picked up a guitar in 2002 draw Robbie Miller's path to stardom and  Eazy Entertainment Australia is so glad that he did.
